Tony,
We had the chance to go on one of your boat tours last summer.  During the tour we ran into another boat tagging turtles and I remember you asking us to send you a picture (I think that one of your teachers was on the other boat).  Sorry, its a bit out of focus but I hope you enjoy.

Thanks for the great tour!

Hope this finds you well!

Hello, my name is Nicole Lemieux, I was in Bermuda this summer visiting my brother, and we took a tour on the glass bottom boat. Remembering how knowledgable the guide, Tony, was on Bermuda's environment and economy I was wondering if you could provide me with some information or resources on Bermuda. I am taking a course at Brock Universtiy called " Tourism and the environment", and am doing my research paper on the sustainable tourism and thought that Bermuda would be a neat place to look at because it is so impacted by visitors. Thank you. I also added an attatchment with some of the photos we took, one you have to look closely at but you can see the turtle. Thank you,

Nicole Lemieux

Hi there, I was just looking for anything on how tourism has impacted Bermuda, whether that be culturally, environmentally or economically. If there are any books you have read or know of that dicuss tourism in Bermuda, or any knowledge or thoughts that you guys have on the tourism industry for Bermuda, I would love to hear. I know you do not have a lot of time, so maybe just a few important points that you observe from living in Bermuda or what Bermuda does or does not do to be sustainable, or approaches that you think should be taken to encourage moure tousim to the islands. Thank you for all of the input from the last email.

Thank you, I was very interested, and in response to your previous email you can certainly use anything my brother(Chris) said for your website. I will keep in touch, and let you know how the assignment went.

thank you

pb,

Well, Ed & Carol certainly are your newest fans. They had a great time. It was sort of bizarre how they found Tony "but it all works out in the end , we don't know how it just does!" (favorite line from Shakepeare in Love - pretty cheeky but romantic  gwenyth/ralph fiennes movie - good for mild hurricane afternoons...)

Next vaca, a short cruise with the sons. (21 and 20) . we have one day in Cozumel and one in Belize City.

I gather you have spent a bunch of time in Costa Rica. Don't know if that means you may have a friend in either port who you could suggest/recommend for a shore trip. We had a blast swimming with the rays in Grand Cayman Snorkel Park so don't want to repeat. All ideas are appreciated when you have the time.

Thanks for all and know that you were in our thoughts this past holiday.

Hey Tony,

Remember me from a couple of weeks ago? I work for JetBlue Airways and you took my mom, aunt and cousins for a boat ride.

The picture attached may help you remember.

I just wanted to tell you, I didn’t forget about the write up on JetBlue.com that I promised. I’m working on it and hope to have good news to report in the next couple of weeks. Once, the promo is up and running on the site, I’ll email you again to let you know.

Thanks again for the amazing ride,

Hi PB!

This is the Dallas family.  We rented your boat on Cup match sunday and are renting again this Friday.    We had a great day and are looking forward to it again on Friday.  Wanted to share some cute pics of our dog, captaining your boat!

Greetings and Salutations!

We so enjoyed two kayak adventures with you in previous years that we rented a boat for a half day romp around Great Sound last season.  We had a most wonderful time enjoying the scenery and going under the Somerset Bridge and around that island.  Such interesting sea life and fun places to explore, even saw a sea turtle!  We really appreciated your instructions and the cell phone was very assuring for us who are not seasoned sailors.

Feel free to use on your website.  Hope all is well with you and the family.

Hi Tony,

Greeting from York Pa.  We had an awesome time aboard the Coral Reef and are looking forward to returning to Bermuda.  Here are some of the photos from last week.  Please let me know how they look to you.  Thanks for giving use such a fond memory of Bermuda.

Sincerely,

Ray and Joann Markey

Hi Captain Tony!

We were just showing our Bermuda pictures from June to some of our relatives, when we realized that we never sent you any of the pictures we took on your boat.  I am guessing that you might not remember us, but we were one of two couples on a Saturday morning cruise.  You took us by the start of an around-the-island race of long skinny boats with tiny little engines on the back.  Then we headed for the Vixen and continued to be trapped under a rain cloud for the whole hour or so we were out there.  On the way back, the cloud marched on past and created a stunning effect, letting the sun illuminate the long tails against the murky backdrop of the rain cloud.

Thanks for slowing down so we could take a few pictures…I have attached a few of the best ones.

Best regards,

Brian and Taryn Degon

[Captain] Tony,

My name is Lara Gates, and I was on one of your glass bottom boat tours that left from Willowbank this summer. I'm sure you don't remember me, but I loved talking to you about all the marine life and conservation efforts around Bermuda. Now, this fall, I have the opportunity to apply for an REU (research experience for undergraduates) internship at BBSR. I remember you talking about your family being very involved in research, and I was wondering if you had any connections to the research station. Do you have any pointers for me concerning applying for this program or know of anyone that would be good for me to get in touch with? Thanks so much! I hope to be back in your waters soon! Lara Gates

Dear Tony,

This is a long-overdue e-mail to thank you for the wonderful trip on the Coral Reefer this past summer (I'm sure you don't remember me or my husband by now) and to give you the name of the wonderful vacation town in Brazil that I had mentioned to you.  It is called Parati (also spelled Parachi, or at least pronounced that way), and I vaguely recall that it was south of Rio, probably closer to Sao Paolo.  The tide washes the streets, and the doorsteps are a foot above the ground.  A wonderful town from where you can rent boats and hop from tiny island to tiny island.  We hope to be back in Bermuda this summer or next year.  Your boat trip was the highlight of our vacation!  (And you gave us a great restaurant recommendation too.)  Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Hey PB,

Thank you so much for the lovely email!  It has been great working with you guys too!

The group said they had a wonderful time and the organizer of the group said that you guys were fantastic.  So yes can we go ahead and book you again for this Friday 26th May - 9 people. You have been phenominally helpful!  So whats the deal?  Why had next to no one in the office here heard of you!  Although the majority of our groups here are significantly larger than what you can hold it would be ideal for the smaller groups.  I will definitely be using you and recommending you guys for future business.

Many Thanks and I look forward to working with you again!

Hello Captain Tony (and family):

We spent Friday morning (May 12/06) with Captain Tony and it was undoubtably the highlight of our first visit to Bermuda.  We were guests of the Rosedon Hotel, who arranged the trip for us.  There were 4 of us and Tony might remember us because of the expression on my face at first....I was expecting a much larger boat (I'm afraid of the ocean waves) and for a moment I wasn't convinced I could go onboard.  Lucky for me, I was assured we weren't going anywhere near the big waves, because as I said, we had a wonderful, magical 2-1/2 hours on the reef.

The information that Captain Tony provided was amazing.  His knowledge of the area and his attention to detail really made the trip special.  We were so thankful, in hindsight, that the boat was small.   It allowed us to go in areas that we would have missed entirely on a larger boat.  We were in total awe of the feeding frenzie that took place when we fed the fish....they splashed me to the point my blouse was wet.  The variety of fish, especially the large groupers, was very impressive.

Our daughter has a large salt water fish tank here in Halifax and we were able to tell her about all the corals we had viewed.  The water is so crystal clear, you can see so far down.  It was truly a wonderful experience.  The first thing we did when we returned to the Hotel was to tell the Front Desk folks how wonderful it was and encouraged them to send more guests your way.

We are back in Halifax now but as soon as we can, we intend to be back in Bermuda.  You can be sure we will be looking for the Coral Reefer.

I will send a few pictures under separate e-mail.

 Regards,

Hi Tony,

I was on your boat on March 29 and had a really great time. I posted all of my Bermuda pictures online, but you'll be most interested by the ones from your boat near the end. Let me know if you find any you like.

Thanks!

February 2006

Hey captain Tony,

I’m not sure if you remember but my mom and I went out on February 11 and we said we would email the photos, better late than never!  Hope you enjoy… we did!

Thanks again… my sister will be giving you a call in may!

Tammy

Note from PB :  The shadowy shape lurking at the centre of these photos taken by our passenger Tammy is an immense Black grouper that has emerged from the shelter of the wreck of the HMS Vixen. Because of Coral Reefer's small size and maneuverability, Tony is able to make grouper sightings (up to 8 individual fish at once weighing up to 120lbs each!) a regular feature of his trip. The photo to the right was taken looking down through a hatch on the bow of the Vixen of 2 groupers just chilling out! Most passengers get the opportunity to peer at groupers inside the wreck first hand while standing on the bow of Coral Reefer. Like most things, though, you just have to be there to understand how cool they are - a photo does little justice!

February 2006

Hi,

Sorry about the delay in getting in touch with you. I was on one of your reef trips in February this year. We saw a Green Turtle eating a Portuguese man o war over the wreck of HMS Vixen. I have four pictures. I just want to make sure that it is OK to email you these large files to you. I will send them to you as soon as you respond.

Once again thank you for a wonderful afternoon over the reefs. It was most informative. I have no hesitation in recomending your tour. I will also be on one of your future tours just as soon as we come back to Bermuda.

Regards Phil Townrow

Life's a Beach!

This photo is of a Green turtle eating a Portuguese man-o-war (a stinging jellyfish that drifts through Bda's waters). The thing that looks like a plastic bag is the air-filled float of the man-o-war and the brown shape at right is the back of the turtle who is busy munching on the tentacles that dangle below. Green turtle's tough skins are impervious to stings and jelly fish form a large part of their diet though it is very rare to witness! It was our lucky day!

Tony:

Just wanted to let you know that we're still talking about our glass-bottom boat tour with you (October 18) to HMS Vixen, as well as all the Bermuda history and culture you imparted during the ride to/from the Vixen. Thanks again for the informative and very personal tour. I hope that you, PB and the children are doing well. All the slides I took came out, and I will try to get some scanned and transmitted to you.

Everyone on the trip with us decided that they would enjoy a longer stay in Bermuda. Could you remind me again of the name of the house for rent that you indicated would be so very reasonable? We picked up one of the brochures from the Information Center, but couldn't recall the name of the one you recommended. I seem to recall that it included breakfast as well.

Finally, as I indicated during our tour, several of the folks here at North Carolina State University are interested in discussing black-capped petrels with your father-in-law, Dr. Wingate. In particular, Drs. Ted Simons and Jaime Collazo, both ornithologists, would like to talk with him about the sites that he documented in Haiti for that species. Would you please convey their interest to him?

Thanks again for the tour, and for anything you can do to link Drs. Collazo and Simons up with Dr. Wingate.

Hey Tony,

Cathy and I want to thank you again for taking the time for us, it was most definitely most gracious of you . We send our best wishes to you and mom and the twins, and hope all is well. We had lunch with a couple on the ship, and they were telling us about a tour they took, and that the guide seemed very knowledgable and " down to earth ", they had a great time and would highly recommend him. Of course, we knew instantly that it was you, and we agree. Well, Tony, I don't want to bend your ear to long, but please get back to me and let's keep in touch. Talk to you soon, Mike.

Our family came to Bermuda this past April and I apologize for taking so long to get the attached photos to Capt. Tony, his wife and their adorable son.

While in Bermuda we chose to take your glass bottom boat tour.  We felt so lucky to have chosen an outfit run by individuals completely dedicated to understanding and promoting a healthy ecology for the island!! Capt. Tony amused and amazed us with all the information he enthusiastically and humorously shared about everything Bermudian .Our family still talks about the fabulous day we spent together on that great boat, on the beautiful waters of Bermuda with a Captain who's knowledge of the land and seas is equal only to the talent he has for making  people feel completely comfortable.
Thank you for being a delightful part of our fabulous Bermuda memories.
Hope you enjoy the photos! We have all wondered and hope all is well with the newest addittion to your family? We wish your family all the best. If you want to use any part of this note or the pictures to promote your work, please do.
Thanks again. Peace and good fortune.

whenever and wherever you can!
Rowdy and Roxy are such great names, you will be hard pressed to come up with one more for the little guy!? We will be curious to know what you decide on.
Thanks for taking the time to write back, PB. Our entire family sends their best for your quick recovery, the continued good health for your family and huge success in everything you do.

Hi Tony and PB-

Rick McCabe and Beth Morgan here. You both were so nice in helping us get engaged in style on the Coral Reefer last June. Thank you again for taking such good care of us.

The wedding's only a week away and we're obviously excited, busy and wide-eyed as it gets closer.

Directed by our twin obsessions of island living and the clear waters of the Caribbean, we've decided to replace traditional table numbers at our reception with beach/island names.

We'd love to name our table after the beach/island off of which we were engaged. If we remember correctly, it's an island that can be rented for parties and barbecues by groups like the cruise lines. Tony was nice enough to let Beth off on the island for a moment to use the bathroom just before I popped the question.

If you know what we're talking and can send the name back, that would be great.

Thanks for your help. Hope all's well with you both...and Rowdy, too.

Rick & Beth

Wow, twins! Congratulations to you both. That's great news.

Thanks for the island and area names. We're definitely going to include them somehow.

We'll send you a picture after the big day.

Be well,

Beth and Rick

PB and Rowdy-

Just wanted to drop you a quick note to thank you for the wonderful time my husband Ken and I had when we rented our platoon boat, whilst in Bermuda this week ( Monday morning, I believe)  The time you spent, giving us all the specifics, made our time "at sea"  relaxing as well as great fun.  We're planning a family trip back very soon,  and will definitely be renting from Aquatic Bermuda again. Our grand
daughters, 5 and 7, will just adore Rowdy, and I promise to offer him something other than a peanut granola bar, that I was so afraid he couldn't chew, after I gave it to him.
You guys do a great job, thank you again.

We'd be honored to be included in your comment feedback.
And, as not to actually give you my political affiliation, if the current administration is removed (in the US) we won't need any platoons. Actually, that was a glitch with my spell check, and I saw it right when I hit "send". Alas-too late.
If you use our comments, on your website, you may want to correct the spelling, to pontoon, as your readers may think
your customers tend to be a touch on the slow side, mentally.
Stay happy.

Hey Toni, PB And Rowdy!

I know this is going to sound funny but this is Jessie from a group that you took snorkeling about four or five weeks ago. My family and I were on the Celebrity Cruise Line and I was the youngest of the family {the one that was totally in love with Rowdy :) }. I just wanted to say hi and see how you guys were doing. It was so awesome being able to meet you guys on our trip, and going snorkeling with you guys was probably my favorite part of the trip. You were so welcoming and fun! I got to learn and see so many awesome things! You were also so friendly and I felt comfortable around you. It was also so cool to hear about your life. I'm extremely interested in marine biology and just hearing your stories was amazing. I also love the ocean and you showed me so many unbelievable things!

Well I just wanted to say hello and thanks so much for such an awesome experience! Oh and Happy Father's Day Toni! I'm scanning a picture of you guys on here so I hope it turns out ok! Hope to hear from you guys soon! Bye!

Tony, PB and Rowdy

We all felt very fortunate to have had such a special day with all of you. I hope it was a day that did not put you back too far with work or your relationship with the current bulldog of Nonsuch Island. Such a day will be on the mental list of best days in our travelling life.

Our wee place in the Bahamas is on Russell Island next to Spanish Wells. Hogfish Maximus is the sailboats name and Chris Morejohn is a name that Spanish Wells knows so when you are able to bein the Bahamas you know how to find our property. Whether we are there or not, you are welcome. It is rustic but pretty, on the water, not far from some great spearing reefs [sharks too!] I am back in Canada now, my girls are most jealous of the trip to Nonsuch Island. Canada is grey skies and green leaves, it appears I missed a weekend of rain but won't be missing the upcoming week of rainy cool weather.

Be well, you are a lovely family with so much to offer. Stay in touch when you can, many thanks, keep that "boy horrendous" smiling! Rachel

Sam and I hope you do well in your business and stay healthy and happy.  There is nothing better in life, at least in my mind, than spending your days doing something you love with someone you love.

We intend to return to Bermuda some day.  We hope to ride with you again.

Regards,
